Boyd Gaming announced Monday, May 18, it will reopen seven of its U.S. casinos in the coming weeks, five in Louisiana and two in Mississippi.
In conjunction with Boyd's announcement, the casinos released reopening dates and times via their respective social media feeds. See the full list of Boyd's casinos in Louisiana and Mississippi welcoming customers back below.
The five locations are Sam's Town Hotel and Casino in Shreveport, Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner, Amelia Belle Casino in Amelia, Delta Downs Racetrack in Vinton, and Evangeline Downs Racetrack. Collectively, these locations lost more than $70.2 million in March and April. Opening Monday are the Boomtown New Orleans on the Harvey Canal, Treasure Chest Casino at Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, and two truck stop casinos, Westbank Truck Stop in Westwego and Casino 90. Boyd's New Casino and Resort Policies
Treasure Chest Casino Kenner La Reopening Times
Each property reopening shared a short video produced by Boyd highlighting the company's new health and safety protocols. Additionally, the company shared new cleaning policies on its website. All guests are being encouraged to wear facial coverings to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Treasure Chest Casino Kenner La Reopening Today
Boyd's casinos in Louisiana and Mississippi will provide customers with complimentary personal protective equipment (PPE). Resort hotel rooms will no longer be cleaned on a daily basis to limit contact between staff and guests. Boyd's hotel rooms will be supplied with extra towels to minimize the need for housekeeping visits.
Boyd plans to provide single-use condiments and napkins in all dining locations. Restaurants and bars are subject to reduced capacity limits to provide enough space for social distancing.
Treasure Chest Casino Kenner La Reopening Date
For casino properties with sportsbooks, the company's updated policy states that every other betting window will be open to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Seating will be rearranged to allow customers adequate distance from each other.
